Some sort of Important things that have happened

Yes it’s Sunday so that means I write about some News Stories that have happened this week. Last week I didn’t because I was in Manchester Pride, and even though II tried my very hardest I could not possibly type anything because I couldn’t actually see the laptop through the tequila haze. So here are some things that have happened since I wrote about things.

I will start with last Saturday where Lucy Spraggan appeared on Xfactor and got ultra famous over night. Her song ‘Last night,’ even gave competition to Little Mix for the cherry-on-a-sundae top spot in the downloads chart. And because the four little mixers didn’t want their little high top and shiny hair song beaten, it got taken off which I think is as stupid as Mel C still saying she’s straight but anyway.

Another Xfactor singer was in the gay news last night, and not because she’s brilliant or has amazing song lyrics (see above paragraph) but because she pulled out of playing on the stage at this year’s Brighton Pride. According to Pink News, the singer cancelled at the last minute because her team were not satisfied with the venue and the amount of people. I’m sure next time they’ll be a red glittered carpet rolled out, a few million people will be drafted in from China to make sure there’s enough of a crowd and all of team GB will greet her by bowing to her. Get the fuck over yourself Burke.  And one, think about the people you’ve disappointed and two, if you carry on with that attitude next year you’ll be living in a council house in Crewe and won’t even have the money for a ticket for Pride.

As for more annoying you’re-really-going-to-act-like-that people, one Million Moms have been protesting against Jennifer Lopez’s new lesbian comedy-drama and trying to get it taken off air. These mothers really are a pain in everyone’s arse. And I doubt there’s a million of them. There’s probably eight at most sitting around a sticky biscuity table drinking gin and crying that the pregnancy stick has turned blue once again. I cannot wait for this new comedy, it’s about a lesbian couple and their children and hopefully will show the dickwads like the mums that lesbians can have families too and won’t hit them with frying pans or draw moustaches on them or whatever else these people think that gay people do to their kids

Now this is the thingy I was going to talk about last week so here is all the stuff you need to get yourself to the thing I’m about to talk about. On September the fifteenth What The Frock! Is hosting an evening of comedy in Bristol. It will be compered by Kate Smurthwaite, headlined by multi-award winner Danielle Ward, and also featuring Bethany Black and Angie Belcher. So really there’s not much more you could need of an evening.

I always talk about comediennes and how they don’t get enough press, people don’t think that women are funny and how men rule the comedy circuit. So this Princess Faces is a wonderful opportunity to support the funny ladies. And by going to watch you’ll have quite a dandy time too so everyones a chicken dinner winner.

Everyone is welcome and you don’t have to be part of the UK Feminista Summer School to go, so really what are you waiting for? All previous What The Frock! events have sold out in advance, so please buy your tickets in advance as they may not be available on the door. Gather up your friends, put the cat anf the knitting down and get out to this evening and laugh your chinos off.
