Well, my live style is pretty unique! I don’t just play guitar, so don’t expect a normal acoustic act! I perform live with my loop station, which basically means I can play something on an instrument, loop it, and add more on top. Which means that with some songs, it sounds like there is a full band backing me! I’ve worked hard to teach myself guitar, piano and beat boxing, so adding all of this in to my live shows is tricky, but can sound great – when I get it right! Ha ha.
I’ll be mainly playing around my local area (Tamworth, Birmingham), but I’ll also be playing shows in Wolverhampton, and I’ll be there for Wolverhampton and Black Country pride, so anybody from around there should definitely say hi!
What’s your favourite cover to do?
Oh there are so many! I love covering anything that will get the crowd singing along. I’m going to have to say Valerie by Amy Winehouse, god rest her soul!
What other musicians have you met that you admire?
KT Tunstall. Oh my, I love her. I met her after one of her shows last year, I nearly cried! She’s a huge inspiration to me, I made her sign my hip and I was so close to getting it tattooed! Kind of glad I didn’t now, but yeah, god she’s awesome.
If you had to pick another job what would it be?
Probably an actress, or a teacher. I’d love to be an actress just because performing and drama has always been in my life, but if I’m being realistic, I’ll probably end up being a teacher!
What’s the first song you ever sang?
Left Outside Alone by Anastasia. What an anthem. I remember being at Butlins when I was real young and that song had just came out, I couldn’t stop singing it so I went in for the karaoke, and I didn’t even win! A boy singing Robbie Williams won. I’m still very bitter about the whole ordeal.
What other hobbies do you have?
To be honest, not a lot else! I love anything to do with music, me and my other half go to a lot of gigs, and just go out socialising really (pub, anyone?).
Any celeb crushes?
Not really you know! I only have eyes for my Mrs! I guess Pink’s a rather attractive woman, and that Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls!
A bit mix match! Ha ha, it changes daily! Some days I go out in a dress and heels, some days I go out wearing a hoody! I really couldn’t describe it. My favourite item of clothing is my faux-fur leopard print coat, so I guess it’s a little quirky? Ha!
What’s the best advice you were ever given?
Just go out there and enjoy yourself, then the audience will enjoy themselves too. And it’s true! My dad gave me that advice, he toured all over the world when he was younger, so he’s a good guy to have around when I need some advice! I used to get very nervous before shows, but now I just think, go out there with a smile, and hope the audience smile back!
Where do you see yourself in ten years time?
Married with kids no doubt! Who knows whether I’ll still be performing, we can only hope!
